General Guide For Using Biodiesel

When first using Biodiesel it is recommended to follow our simple guide to

ensure that you have a trouble free transition.

Always start by using a blend. At Go Green Biofuels we recommend

starting with a blend of between 30% - 50% with mineral diesel. If your

vehicle is still under warranty please check for the recommended blend with

your manufacturer before using biodiesel.

Always ensure that you fill your tank with mineral diesel first and then add

the biodiesel. (If you add more than the recommended blend and / or add

the biodiesel first you could cause starting problems, sluggish driving, lack of

power and also block your fuel filter in a very short time, sometimes

immediately. This is easily remedied by an inexpensive change of fuel filter

and topping up with regular diesel again. If you follow our guidelines here

you will not experience this problem.)

Run your vehicle on the initial blend for approx 500 – 600 miles when you

will need to change the fuel filter. This is usually a one off .

You can then either continue to run on this blend or decide to gradually

increase the biodiesel up to 100% if wanted. If you decide to use 100% you

may need to change your fuel filter again, as there may be some deposits

left over from the mineral diesel which will be completely cleaned out by the

biodiesel.
